Years ago I had the idea of a brand that would merge meditation and art. (2016) First, I couldn't bring myself to paint again, so I did the 12 weeks of "The Artist's Way," and, on top of dozens of books, countless YouTube videos, and a couple of overpriced courses, I graduated Self-Help. (2018) When I managed to grab a brush again, I (rightfully) thought I didn't paint well enough, so I practiced and practiced to improve. (2021) Then I thought, "who am I to talk about meditation?" so I went and took a 200-hour yoga teacher training. Then I thought, "English is not my first language, I wish I had someone to correct my mistakes." As an answer to my wish, AI became accessible. So I took everything I had written, all my ideas and plans, and put them through this new magic tool to improve them. Then I saw many others had done the same, and my interesting ideas had taken a cookie-cutter form, losing their character and anything unique about them. So I scrapped it all and started writing again on my own (with all my mistakes). I contemplated using AI to replicate my own voice and make it speak in a perfect accent, even in multiple languages. I abandoned this idea before even trying, so you'll have to put up with my Greek accent... (2025) Then I thought, can I be a proper artist if I haven't studied? I thought of going back to school, but as I researched it, art school was less attractive than art history. My goal wasn't to be "the best" artist (whatever that might mean), but to merge art with meditation and, as an ultimate goal, keep self-connection and the "repair," if you will, of self-perception... So now (2026) I'm starting Art History studies on my own, and who knows, maybe I'll make it to a school one day... Until then... I'm creating a letter subscription and art collections based on what I find out... Unbelievable as it sounds, this process took 10 years. 10 years the ideas have been brewing in my head, getting out of my fingers, writing, painting, sketching, looking, and reading. Unbelievable as it sounds, there are still things that stop me from putting these ideas out there, from filming, publishing, and showing. I don't have a nice filming setup, I don't look nice, I'm old, I have wrinkles, my teeth need whitening, my equipment is outdated, who is going to watch this? I'm only getting likes from my husband and my cousin. This talk is still alive in my head, sometimes louder than others, but I'm determined to face each one and still do it. Most importantly, the last one: who is going to watch this? How am I going to find you? I'll use the scientific approach of shouting into the void. Like scientists sending messages to outer space, hoping to get an answer from some type of conscious civilization, I'll be posting videos, hoping some type of human being will be interested. All the things that almost stopped me sound like self-sabotage, limiting myself, being too afraid to act, even procrastinating. To an extent, it was all of the above. At the same time, each limit pushed me to overcome it and genuinely improve myself, and most importantly, to come closer to what I truly like, what I truly want — a Self, that for some reasons (some known, some unknown), I denied myself the right to reach and to be. Everything I create — my art, my mail club, my magazine — is the result of this 10-year process of maturing, learning, living. I hope you find something interesting in them. Remember to take as much time as you need, and meet me at the next one. Love, Evi
