ART

Art as a souvenir of a feeling.

A letter in your mailbox every month, a magazine each season, and art finished by hand, each with its own small practice.

Art as a souvenir of a feeling

An object with meaning becomes a reminder. That's why Evi makes art as a ritual: something you return to, connect with, and fold into your own practice.

Keep going for the story →

Evi Michailidou, the artist behind Maison Eviève, works in mixed media: pastel, paint, thread, plaster, words. She is drawn to the self and our place in the world, and often brings loose, gestural strokes and fine ink or embroidery into the same piece.

Twelve years as a makeup artist, then the study of yoga, taught her to step back from the work and think of the person who lives with it. You'll find that in everything here: the meditation letters, the originals and prints, and her magazine "(meditating) On Art".

You don't need an escape from the life you've built. You need one more calm moment, and then another, so you never do.

Welcome to Maison Eviève.

Every season, the monthly letters grow into a magazine in English and French, about paintings, music, places and rituals worth slowing down for. A meditation beside an aria. A recipe written as a ritual. A page left blank for you.

Inside the magazine
"(meditating) On Art" magazine

A letter every month. A magazine every season.

A small moment of quiet that comes back every month is worth more than one big escape. Keep it for yourself, or give it to someone you love.

Where art and meditation become one piece.

Every piece arrives with its own meditation letter. Originals are signed. Prints are finished by hand and signed, so no two are quite alike.

For the people who never ask for anything.

A few things people ask.

What arrives in the post?

Every month, a typed letter with a few handwritten lines and small sketches, and a postcard. Every season, the printed issue of "(meditating) On Art", our magazine in English and French.

Does every piece of art really come with a meditation letter?

Yes. Every piece arrives with its own meditation letter, so living with it becomes a small practice from the first day.

Are the art pieces original or prints?

Both. Originals are signed. Prints are finished by hand and signed, so each one differs slightly. When a print belongs to a limited, numbered edition, its page says so and shows the edition size.

Is the magazine really in two languages?

Yes. Every issue of "(meditating) On Art" is written and printed in English and French, side by side.

Can I give it as a gift?

Yes. "(letters) On Art" can be given for 6 or 12 months, paid once, with nothing renewing. Every gift, prints included, arrives wrapped in satin ribbon with your message printed on a card, and a second card follows some months later with a small practice and a few more words from you. Wrapping is always included. See the gift.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, any time, on your own. Your welcome email has a link to manage your subscription, where you can update your details or cancel.

What makes this different from just buying art online?

Each piece comes with a meditation letter, so you don't only hang it, you come back to it. It stays a souvenir of a feeling rather than a decoration.

Where are you based, and where do you ship?

Maison Eviève is based in France. Letters and art ship internationally.

Say hello.

Email is the easiest way to reach me. I read and answer every message myself.
